Thanksgiving is uniquely American. Sadly most Americans (those 66% that the Gallup organization reports dread Monday morning) view Thanksgiving both as an opportunity to escape the drudgery of their work as well as an opportunity to be with family. Like most, I feel unbelievably fortunate for the blessings of my family and friends. Unlike many, I also feel fortunate for my work colleagues, those who have made my professional journey so rewarding. Here is to those who I am privileged to consider my teammates:

  • I am thankful for the opportunity to be part of something bigger than myself, the opportunity to team with others and make a difference in our world.
  • I am thankful for those who have entrusted me to be their leader.
  • I am thankful for those who are courageous enough to challenge me, if they see a better path forward.
  • I am thankful for my ability to discern from those behaviors that attract others to our Mission and understand how those behaviors differ from those that drive people away from our team.
  • I am thankful to my team for helping me feed the hunger to find meaning in my work.
  • I am thankful to my team for helping me learn how to become a better person, learning humility and skills that I can apply in my personal relationships with my family, friends and faith.

Happy Thanksgiving!
